## In short

I designed 47 adjustable print files for organizing the house, labeling plants, and small workshop tasks, with editable source and a browser customizer. The designs have been checked digitally; physical print testing is pending.

Six modeled parts from the repository's preview sheet; these are renders, with physical print testing pending.

## Overview

I designed Everyday Prints as a collection of 47 original parametric (adjustable through named dimensions) print files for home organization, plant labeling, and small workshop tasks, plus assembly references.

I used build123d (a Python CAD library; CAD means computer-aided design) to keep the geometry editable in source. The collection includes trays, cable organizers, plant markers, and workshop aids. The images show modeled geometry, not physical prints.

## Design and fit

My modular drawer-divider joint can form cross, T, corner, or straight connections. Each board end seats against a central hub. A matching fit coupon (a small test print for checking a fit) helps choose the clearance before making the full joint.

The tube reducer is an unsealed slip-fit prototype for dry workshop air connections. Its defaults suit tubes with measured outside diameters of 50 mm and 32 mm, with 0.4 mm total added diameter for clearance. I included a short socket fit ring to check each tube size before printing the reducer.

## Browser customizer

I built a [Cloudflare-hosted customizer](<https://everyday-prints.metzdevan.workers.dev/>) for browsing the collection, editing dimensions, rebuilding models, and downloading the resulting preview mesh. It runs the Python CAD builders to create new geometry from those measurements.

The local customizer source also offers CAD ZIP downloads and assembly kits with matching components, quantities, and fit coupons. The repository documentation says these additions have not yet been deployed to the public library.

## Files and validation

I provide editable Python source, STEP (an exchange format for solid CAD models), STL (a mesh format for printing), and geometry-only 3MF (a 3D-printing format without printer settings), alongside geometry and mesh validation reports. Rebuilding from source preserves control over walls and clearances when dimensions change.

Physical print testing is pending. My digital checks cover geometry and exported meshes; fit, print success, strength, and durability still need physical trials. Start with a matching fit coupon where provided and review the model in a slicer (software that prepares printer instructions).

The [collection folder](<https://github.com/DevanMetz/Devan-Metz-FreeCAD/tree/main/Everyday%20Prints>) contains the files, instructions, and Apache-2.0 license. My [Parametric FreeCAD Designs](<https://devanmetz.com/portfolio/parametric-freecad/>) entry covers other editable models in the same repository.
